Big AI updates from Adobe and Amazon, Google is using AI to improve shopping, and more!

Adobe MAX conference is packed with AI updates. Let's dive in. 💻

Adobe previewed and released several notable AI features across Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and more.

Why this is important to marketers:

1. First, Adobe released their "Firefly" video model which is already available to some users within Premiere Pro.

2. Next, Adobe announced over 100 new features across its Creative Cloud, many leveraging gen AI.

3. Adobe also launched a global skilling initiative aimed at teaching AI literacy within content creation and digital marketing.

Amazon announces a new AI creative studio for advertisers 🛒

At unBoxed 2024, Amazon Ads introduced AI creative studio and Audio generator, two new gen AI tools.

Why this is important to marketers:

1. Ad networks like Amazon appear to be aiming to reduce the barrier to creating ads, which is reflected in these updates.

2. AI creative studio is a single application that will allow brands to use AI to create new product images, static ads, commercials, etc. This could potentially make creating ads more seamless.

3. Amazon already has AI-powered display and video ads, but now they showcased audio ads as well. This could be an AI voiceover, or AI-generated background music.

Google Shopping gets an AI makeover 🛍️

Google is bringing AI to their Google Shopping feature in Search with a new personalized feed.

Why this is important to marketers:

1. This one is important for our e-com folks. Their new "feed" is similar to the "For You" page in TikTok, where Google will recommend products and related videos based on your interests.

2. Google is also adding AI-generated summaries for each product that's based on reviews and articles. It might be beneficial to ensure you have solid reviews and PR for Google to pull from.

3. This feature will be rolling out on mobile and desktop "over the coming weeks, starting on October 16th"

Sequoia releases their prediction for where AI will go. A must read for marketers. 🔮

If you want a good indication of where AI and marketing will go, following the money could provide insights. That's why this article by Sequoia might offer a glimpse of the future.

Why this is important to marketers:

1. AI agents are potentially on the horizon. With AI models that can "think", it suggests AI might be able to handle more sophisticated activities.

2. AI is moving from tools to services. Right now we have AI tools to help improve processes. But Sequoia predicts AI will be able to handle the entire process sooner than later.

3. However, AI isn't likely to replace marketing entirely. AI seems to perform well in rule-based environments like coding. But it may face challenges in more subjective fields like marketing. Human creativity will likely still be needed.

AI moves fast. We make sure marketers don't get left behind.
